I had the courtesy of meeting rapper Whosane (of Pangaea) at the Portland, OR stop of Mos Def's Ecstatic Tour where he opened for Mos and Jay Electronica. We chatted for a bit outside the venue and he hooked me up with a copy of his mixtape/album Prelude to Black Diamond. He's a very humble, respectful dude trying to get his music out and spread a message. I respect that.

His group (Pangaea) just dropped a new Oh No-produced track called "Pangaea Movement." Here's what it's all about:
In honor of the 20th anniversary of Nelson Mandela’s release from prison on February 11th, 1990, South African Capetown-based hip-hop group PANGAEA has released a very dope track off their upcoming album BLACK DIAMOND entitled Pangaea Movement, produced by OhNo.

PANGAEA is the new international music sensation comprised of Jimmy Flexx (South Africa), Nonku Phiri (South Africa) & Whosane (Brooklyn, NY). You may have caught WHOSANE on Mos Def’s Ecstatic tour last year with Jay Electronica. This kid can sure spit it, and we’re huge fans of Whosane and Pangaea here at {FROLAB!}. Stay tuned for show updates and a BLACK DIAMOND album review when it drops! While you’re waiting, head over to Itunes and pick up Whosane’s Prelude to the BLACK DIAMOND.
Check out "Pangaea Movement" below and be sure to keep your eyes and ears on Whosane on his rise to the top.
