When Jay Elect signed to Roc Nation a short while back, he dropped two amazing tracks and then appeared to call it a day for the time being. Hardcore fans know, however, that he's been sitting on an album for some time now from way before he probably ever considered the possibility an offer from Jay-Z's label.

Act II, the followup to the underground hit Act I: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (a true hip-hop masterpiece in my opinion), has been on the back burner for a while. Initially Jay said it was because he was stuck waitin for a verse from Nas, then he admitted that he was dragging his feet out of fear of falling short, then he claimed to have put the "finishing touches" on the project. So where is Act II now?

According to Jay in this interview, it's been worked on (though he never says it's finished). Otherwise, he says, he been "collecting work".

Hopefully Jay-Z will be able to light a fire under Jay-E's ass the way Diddy wasn't really able to. Until then, sit tight and be grateful for what we have gotten so far. He shows no signs of stopping...he just isn't ready to run full speed yet.
